Derby hosts a four day farmers institute with lectures from Ames College staff and domestic science classes. Dr C M McGuire Recieves Fourteen Degrees at Masonry Rite
Dr C M McGuire returned from Des Moines after receiving from the fourth to the thirty second degrees of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. The ceremonies were held in the Masonic Temple over four days and a banquet for 700 guests followed Friday night. Church Day is Sunday December 28 with services across Tameston.

Thanksgiving Sermon and Dinner at Town Churches
Union Thanksgiving services will be held at the Baptist Church Thursday at 7 30 PM with Rev C M Thomas of the Christian church delivering the address and a union choir providing music. The town ministers assist in the service. The M E church ladies will serve their annual Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Ames Eleven Defeats Drake Bulldogs 26 to 3 at Des Moines Stadium
Ames fans including Dr. R. B. Kyner and Hinchlift watched the Ames team defeat the Drake Bulldogs 26 to 3 at the Stadium in Des Moines Saturday. Kyner, an Ames graduate, called the game a fierce battle and returned Sunday. Other locals visited relatives over the weekend in Minburn and Ames.

Horse Topsy Dies in Fright for Evans Family
Topsy a sixteen year old driving mare owned by B S Evans collapsed and died from fright while being driven by Miss Hattie Evans near the school. The horse had a long history with the Evans family serving for thirteen years and had previously been frightened by passing autos. She was considered a steady, gentle animal and will be missed by the Evans family.

Good Husking Record by Ernest Lewis at George R Rickery
