Acquittal in Bentl ey Woods Stock Case at Corydon
The State dropped charges against H. W. Bentley and F. M. Woods in district court at Corydon after days of trial. Lawyer James Parsons contended they acted in good faith based on representations by the Associated Packing Co. and that Woods held about $10,000 in stock. Harold Bennett age nineteen was killed during a confrontation with town marshal H. Lord in Seymour after resisting arrest for a stolen car linked to farmer Mike Wilson.
