Steers Bring Good Price At Henry Williams Sale
At the farm sale last Thursday a carload of two year old steers sold for 99.50 each. Buyers Northrup and Bartlett of Garden Grove purchased the cattle, twenty whiteface steers averaging over 1200 pounds. The sale also included other property that performed better than expected. Twenty two steers died in the bush.

Runaway Team Injures 84-Year-Old In Humeston Area
Henry Rice, 84, injured when Mrs. Rouse’s wagon team ran away near Richman’s timber. He suffered a badly sprained ankle, bruises, and shock. Lewis Miles Dies Veteran Corydon Attorney at Home
Corydon resident Lewis Miles aged about 70s died at his home last Thursday morning. A long state figure, he served in the Iowa senate, was U S District Attorney for southern Iowa for 13 years, and amassed a large private library. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 30 from his home with notable legal figures in attendance.

Horses Off In Price As Buyers Ship Six Carloads
B. E. Rushing reports horse prices have fallen about in half versus a year ago, though not as steep as Stain. He and Bert McClane shipped six carloads recently, with average cost around $50 per head. Four carloads went to Wurtalo and two to Pennsylvania. A twenty head batch of high-dappled grays moved to Lancaster Missouri then Bridgeport Connecticut as Ringling Bros. draft stock, one weighing 2150 pounds. Buyers ranged from here to west of Des Moines seeking dark dappled grays. A local advertiser notes a farmer traveled a dozen miles to market hogs and saved $17 on feed, indicating more buyers will return.

Seymour Banker Shoots Himself at Home in Seymour
A. J. Davis, cashier of Seymour National Bank, killed himself in his home bathroom yesterday morning while his family were visiting Des Moines.
