District Odd Fellows Meet At Allerton Lodge 88th Anniversary
The Wayne county district convention of Odd Fellows met with Allerton lodge last Friday in Mercer Mo members from nearly all county lodges attended about 300 gathered in the opera house for degree work Speeches readings and musical features highlighted the event followed by a large supper and a reorganization with W T Sinclair elected president D M Bruner vice president J N McCoy treasurer and George O Gardner secretary of adjournment Next meeting set for Humeston with 250 attendees enjoying the program and public afternoon session concluding near midnight with travel home for visitors from Seymour Mercer Promise City and other towns

Farm Home Burned Near Cambria on Windy Noon
The Bobenhouse farm residence, one mile west and south of Cambria, burned last Wednesday noon as high winds prevented control. Occupied by the Grissamore brothers and their wives, the house and belongings were a total loss. Mrs. Mary Grissamore, ill, was moved to Mrs. A Barnett’s home but is not worsened. The barn was saved due to wind direction. Building owned by Mrs. Bobenhouse. no insurance details provided. Bee Hive sells belts.
