Mason Hobden Honored Veteran for Over Fifty Years
W. W. Hobden of Hameston has been a Mason fifty four years. Initiated March 18, 1864 by Wayne Lodge No. 416 of Ontario New York he became a Master Mason as a Civil War soldier. He is treasurer of Fidelity Lodge No. 228 and served four years in the Civil War as a sergeant. In 1880 he moved to Humeston with his wife who died last year. He ran a dray line, acted as Home State Bank director, and remains a highly honored local citizen.
