The Hawkeye Homestead at Chariton held a Monday evening reopening session in the Pythian Temple, initiating 123 members the largest class in local fraternal history. Des Moines degree team and local Homestead units performed, with a luncheon, music, and speeches by Geo F. Carpenter and others. A larger class is hoped within two weeks as district managers supervise ongoing work.
