Mrs Dolly Bay wife of Oren E Bay died of pneumonia at her Lineville home February 16 1918 aged 82 years 2 months 12 days She was born near Humeston Iowa on December 4 1835 and married Oren E Bay March 16 1904 They had two daughters Rosa Myrtle and Mary Jane The funeral was held at the M E church with Rev Russell officiating She leaves her husband two daughters and many relatives She was a devoted church member and active in its work and her passing is deeply mourned by the community

Passing of Clay Township Pioneer Nelson Mendenhall
Nelson Mendenhall of Clay township died Monday after a long illness. Born March 12, 1843 in Green County Indiana, he moved to Clay in 1852 and married Maggie Eider on June 6, 1857. Survived by his wife two grandchildren and two brothers in California, a sister in Decatur county who died the same day, and two children Orval E and Deila L Davis who predeceased him. Interment was at Cunningham cemetery with a memorial service conducted by Rev. Wilson of Allerton.
