Hasbrouck J J Hasbrouck completed the sale of his south Humeston house to Willis Reed last Friday evening. Reed will occupy the modern, well built home in a few days after the Hasbrouck family departs for New York state. About one acre of shrub grounds was not included. Price reported at $5,000. Mrs G E Smith and baby of Gravity stayed with Mrs J W Shiveley Monday night and Tuesday.

Watson Rinard Barbier known as Doc dies after a week's illness from pneumonia on February 18 1920 at 11 p.m. A native of Iowa aged 48 he leaves a widow two daughters Ruth and Margaret his mother sister Marie and two brothers L O and W G. He was active in the Filks and Modern Woodmen lodges and will be buried in Masonic cemetery. J M Miner of Cambria visited town Tuesday.

Miss Gladys Dunn, a fourth grade teacher, broke her right arm learning to roller-skate last Saturday though she plans to resume teaching once healed. Eighth grade teacher Miss Helen Tucker was called home to Indianola Thursday night due to her mother's illness and returned Monday. Mollie Caldwell filled in for the Sta grade, while Alice White spent last week in Humeston training declamatory contestants and will coach the Senior play later. Pupils from first and fourth grades sang Washington Day songs at Friday assembly.

Woman Dies After Steam Fire Burns Frozen Pipes
Mrs Olive Bolibaugh, 59, died after a fire to thaw frozen water pipes produced steam. A piece of flying metal struck her in the back of the head, leaving her unconscious until the afternoon death. The incident occurred the week after the couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
