Death of Leon Crider Mexican war veteran at Garden Grove
Leon Crider, last surviving Mexican war veteran in Decatur county, died at his son F. J. Crider's home in Garden Grove township on Tuesday at 3 pm. He was 88, and funeral services were held today. Obituary of D. D. Brewer of Clay Township Iowa
D D Brewer died January 20 1916 at age 29 after a long spinal illness. Born March 5 1886 in Clay township Wayne County Iowa he lived near his childhood home and married Anna Belle Rickey May 12 1912. One son survives along with wife, mother, stepmother, six sisters and two brothers. Funeral at New Zion church January 23 conducted by Rev D F Shenton with a Corydon quartet. Interment in Cuominghair cemetery.
