Advice from Brad Huffines urges checking with a veterinarian or Extension Office on lice control. It suggests supplementing a cow’s ration with corn for energy in cold weather, noting per pound digestible nutrient costs compare corn at 2.40 per bushel to hay at 53 per ton. Corn supports energy needs without extra protein, and calves gain energy benefits as corn becomes more economical before two pounds daily gain. Have a very Merry Christmas.
