The Wayne county soil survey is finished with six soil types identified and mapped. Samples were tested at Station for greenhouse trials to compare fertilizers and guide future crop planting based on local conditions.
Miss Olive Guinn of Leon will travel to New York on December 1 to begin canteen work after a brief training period. She entered the state university in 1915, studied at the University of Alberta in Canada, and earned her degree at the University of Town. Active in social service, she aids crippled children at the university hospital and has prior ties to the Children’s Shelter in Alberta.
Mr and Mrs A D McCulloch arrived home Saturday from a visit with relatives and friends in Cleveland Akron and other Ohio towns. They also visited Kendal Cape. Harry McCulloch at Ba Creek Michigan attended high school war expos and enjoyed a pleasant trip with their son Inch away.
Mr Homer Shirer of Cratiion Word reports their son Fred, who served in France, has been taken prisoner for several months but is now being held at a German war camp and is said to be learning he is well.
Reverend C G Mi will occupy a Baptist church car and take residence in the east part of town. The church recently bought the Richards property for a parsonage.
