Legion Carnival Brings Record Receipts Despite Rain
The local Post of the Legion reports excellent results from a home grown carnival held last Wednesday night despite heavy spring rains. Admission was ten cents, with a kangaroo court and side shows boosting receipts to about 275 dollars, while expenses ran around 100 dollars.

Jala E H Deyo born 1839 in Coldwater Michigan died 1921 at Humeston Iowa after a life in Highland New York Richland township and Humeston. She joined the Presbyterian church and was a charter member of the Congregational church and remained faithful. Survived by husband daughter Miss Phebe, three granddaughters and two great grandchildren. Funeral held at Congregational church with Rev T Richardson Grey and Rev A G Miller. Interment in Humeston cemetery.

Weldon builder to construct four room modern brick shop
Monday morning work began on a one story brick building between Gara rer's store and Surbaugh's barber shop in Weldon. Geo Miller is the builder. Local dedication services were held last Sunday with visitors including Mr. and Mrs Frank Manieyv Mr and Mrs Harry Woodbury Mrs Fannie Pare and the Ahsses Anna and Minnie Kline.
