Dedicate M. E. Church at Humeston Sunday
Sunday April 10 marks the dedication of the new brick Methodist church at Humeston and vicinity after eight months of construction. Architect J F Cottrell of Omaha led the project with a dedicated pastor J S Young guiding fundraising and pastorate, as donors and memorial windows adorn the finished sanctuary. A cafeteria style dinner will be served in the basement for visitors, with local women coordinating the meal and donations to clear remaining debt.

Humeston May Hear Summer Band Concerts If Fund Reaches Goal
Humeston residents may enjoy weekly band music this summer if enough subscriptions are secured. C L Hart has raised 835 dollars with two firms yet to be approached, potentially bringing the fund to 900 and, with small uncaptured gifts, to 1,000. A band could play Saturday nights starting mid May for twenty weeks. Also noted are a civil case verdict in favor of J W Swegle for 10,000 dollars and a Des Moines grocer killing case. April Fool Frelic Draws Forty Teens at Smith Home
About forty youths gathered at Evelyn and Erma Smiths on Friday night April 1 for an April Fool frelic. Entrance included dance caps and games like tossing the smile track meet and April Maal stunts.
