Funeral services for John K. Abbott 74 of Humboldt will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Lindhart Funeral Home with burial at Maplewood Cemetery Laverne Minn at 3 p.m. He died Monday in Storm Lake. He is survived by his stepdaughters Dorlene Mackowski Dorothy Schmidt and Barbara Anderson all of Cherokee and eight stepgrandchildren and two sisters Charlene Johnson Slayton and Dorothy McCarthy San Gabriel Calif. Abbott born April 26 1909 in Minnesota served in World War I as a cook and married Pearl Mileham February 26 1943 in Dakota City Neb. They lived in Cherokee before moving to Humboldt in 1954 where he worked as a restaurant cook prior to residing at Methodist Manor Storm Lake.
