Dakota City's Doings A Busy Hash of Local News and Accidents
The town newspaper itemizes a weekend of visitors and departures from Fort Dodge Rutland and TaVerne. It notes graduation events at the brick church, churchgoers and a large crowd by the Des Moines river watching a body search, a planned permanent move for the McDermods, and a public school event in the Molarland pasture. The Crop Bulletin reports cooler weather and showers aiding crops, plus notes on corn planting, replanting, and favorable growth. Several local accidents are reported including a buggy run away in Gilmore, a near-miss injury to TY Thompson, and a fatality among two horses in a farming incident. The references name Charl Lane south of town, Eagle Grove, and Goldfield among others.
