Sadie M. Wagner 81 of La Verne died Monday at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. Funeral services were Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church La Verne with burial in La Verne Cemetery. She is survived by seven children, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two brothers, a sister and many relatives.

Worthwhile Club plans Jan 25 fund raiser supper
The Worthwhile Club of Dakota City gathered January 11 at the municipal building with President Lorraine Lowe. Reports praised Christmas projects and donations from the Community Fund Drive. After lunch for Otto Schultz’s funeral, a chicken soup and salad supper was set for January 25 to fund a Dakota City high school graduate scholarship. Jean Hinkle spoke on Dakota City history, his talk was taped for the Historical Association, and the event included a birthday cake for the town’s 125th anniversary.
