Frances May Richardson Cran 76 of Dell Rapids South Dakota funeral services were held at United Methodist Church with burial in Dell Rapids Cemetery. Survivors include her husband Calvert sisters Fern LeBrun Fay Brunette and several nieces and nephews. The Cran family lived in Eagle Grove Clear Lake and near Fort Dodge before retirement.

Funeral Services Held for Mathilda Hanson in Fort Dodge
Mathilda Hanson 91 of Fort Dodge formerly of Livermore died Tuesday at Villa Park Cere Center. Funeral services were held Thursday in Fort Dodge with burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery Livermore. Survived by two sisters Lucille Noonan Emmetsburg and Margaret Bartlett Fort Dodge. Born in Livermore she lived on a farm east of town before moving to Fort Dodge in 1962. She worked at Tierneys Restaurant until 1968 and resided at Villa Park Care Center since 1969.

Catherine Westfall 54 of Humboldt died Wednesday after a long illness. Funeral held Saturday at United Methodist Church Humboldt with burial in Union Cemetery. Officiant Dr Ralph Kitterman. Survivors include son Keith and daughters Bonnie and Cindy and four granddaughters. Born October 25 1927 in Storm Lake she lived in Storm Lake before moving to Humboldt in 1966. Renowned for baking and sharing bread during Christmas.

They confirmed Ronda Arndorfer for second and third grade and Jeanne Wittkoph for kindergarten, while accepting Kathy Olson’s resignation. The board also placed a 10 percent enrichment tax levy on the September 14 ballot.

Head-on Crash Injures Two Near Humboldt on Highway 3
Two drivers were injured in a head-on collision west of Humboldt on Highway 3 shortly after 10 am on Thursday August 5. Mark S. Gillis 24 Spencer crossed the center line into Donnabelle N. McCullough 66 Dakota City. Gillis held overnight with minor injuries. McCullough admitted with multiple injuries, stable next day. Gillis cited for failure to yield half the roadway. Damages exceed 10000 with 3275 to McCulloughs 1978 Chrysler and 7425 to Gillis 1981 Pontiac.
