The Future of Silver As Money Fades From Use
The piece argues silver will lose its role as money with prices depressed and mines remaining profitable only for byproducts. It notes most nations abandon free silver coinage and that silver will persist only in small coins while large transactions require other money. It questions a return to silver standard and predicts continued use in half dollars, quarters, and dimes. It also includes a historical Thanksgiving dinner narrative from 1621 led by Governor Bradford with Massasoit and Miles Standish.
