Co E Fort Again Porthe Members to Camp McKinley
Co E Forthe members of Company by with the exception of those whose condition was such that they could not board the Milwaukee train Tuesday morning for Camp McKinley to be mustered out. The boys, every one of them, have proven themselves brave and willing to go where duty calls. They did not falter when the idea of active campaigning arose and, even to the last, when scores were sick with fever at Camp Thomas, they perceived the order that the regiment would form part of the Porto Rico expedition. They counterminded removal to a healthier camp and asked only to be taken to a more healthful location. Their friends at home did not ask for more. We talked with many of them during furlough days. they are ready to continue service if there is an opportunity. They are made of such material. Now that they are mustered out, it is hoped it will be done quickly. There is lots of corn to pick in the northwest.
