Notable Iowa editor M. H. Harris dies at 90 in Missouri Valley

M. H. Harris longtime Missouri Valley Times editor dies at his home after a brief illness. Born 1821, he helped shape regional journalism and served as county judge, state legislator, and twice as Missouri Valley mayor. An influential Democrat, he published several newspapers and mentored many in western Iowa. His wife preceded him. ten children were born to the couple. Julie Harris, a longtime Odd Fellow and Masonic member, is among the survivors.
