On Tuesday November 2 1906 Rev I G Smith united Mr George Lensink and Miss Gynthis Huibregise in marriage. The couple left for the east and will reside at home after January first. The Index wishes the newlyweds all best wishes.
Wednesday, November 4, at Beck Valley Rev Father Q Rie united James Hogan and Miss Anna Foppe in marriage. Hogan hails from Sioux County and works with Quinn Hogan at the Rock Valley lumber firm. Peter Vis died Saturday, aged 24, after long illness. born in Prussia, emigrated to the area years ago.
The report notes the funeral of a man named Via ig, with details of his surviving wife and five children and four churches in his first union. Rev J Heinen officiated and a large crowd attended to show sympathy. Relatives include Rev B Vig and John Vig currently abroad.
A Halloween party at Misses Florence and May Belle Meckie attracted many youths. A separate gathering at Mr. and Mrs. Al Hai bregtse-a honored Miss Cynthia's approaching marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Keele hosted a merry Wednesday evening. Fir and Mrs. L H Geeckel hosted a social in honor of Miss Matilda Belline with Miss Sylvia Beckman and brothers.
On Halloween weekend the crossing at Main and First streets filled with water clocks vehicles and debris piled four stories high by pranksters. The mess remained in the street from Sunday night into Monday morning before order was restored by Tuesday.
