Henry Hospers Sainted for Sioux County Public Service
A long retrospective honors Henry Hospers for leading the fight against fraudulent warrants in Sioux County during and after the Civil War. The piece credits his 1872 17 year tenure as board chairman and his decisive 1877 settlement that ended costly litigation. It lauds his role in protecting school lands and resisting county corruption with targeted actions and legal help.
