A baby boy born at the Bert Vanden Brand home last Saturday. All concerned are doing nicely. Miss Aitken entertained a college classmate who teaches a new branch added to Canton schools last weekend. Miss Ethel Warren arrived from Elk Point for a visit with Lene. she was accompanied by a lady friend.

Farmer's misfortune as he breaks leg after sidewalk fall
Saturday afternoon Joe Putnam fell from the sidewalk near a furniture store and broke his leg. He was aided by friends until a doctor arrived who advised treatment at home. Andrew DeRoos drove him home to have the fracture set, and the patient is progressing as well as can be expected. Neighbors sympathize during the busy farming season.
