Albert Dockendorf died after a lightning strike near a fence post while he stood with a team and cared for young chickens after work. Born August 1868 in Plainfield, he lived in the area about twenty five years and left a wife, daughter, and several siblings. Funeral services at the family residence were led by Rev Jory with music by Mrs. Mere and drew a large crowd.
