Ralph Wagner Dies After Illness Near Sargeants Bluffs

Ralph Wagner recently moved from the old farm north of town to a farm near Sargeants Bluffs and died Tuesday morning from complications of meals, lung, and pneumonia. He was married a few months ago and leaves a young wife, his parents, brothers, and sisters. The Index extends sympathy to the bereaved.

Near-Collision In Sioux Center Car Run Ends Without Injury

Peter Scheep and Henry DeHaan of Sioux Center narrowly avoid disaster Saturday night while racing west of Kirk Shekton's. Their car suffered a broken fore wheel and bent axles after turning north of the cemetery. Fannie Hymane in a Hupmobile followed closely, nearly colliding if she had accelerated. Peter returned Monday with a new wheel and Waldoff repaired the other car before taking it home.

Community Update on Ills and Hopes for Recovery

The town notes Joe Uneven remains at home due to illness though his strength is noted and a recovery is hoped. Mrs A J Scholten is sick again this week but shows some improvement, with many friends hoping for steady recovery and many years of good health. An older man named Yoma suffered internal hemorrhage Saturday and though days passed with little hope, he has shown slight improvement recently. E Gritters home visit prompted medical attention by Dr Maris for Mr Gritters who is described as very ill with a difficult condition but expected to recover.
