A fire trap in a fifth story stairwell forced two girls to leap into a safety net held in the street. One girl died from injuries, another was seriously hurt, with reports of others unharmed. Investigators probed the blaze’s cause and safety lapses.

A devastating fire in Thomas West Virginia destroyed sixty two buildings, leaving around a hundred families homeless.
