Elimination of Ned Tape Advances Texas VFW Camps
In Austin on May 4 1899 the Texas division of U S V adopted a new constitution abolishing brigades and subdivisions uniting the state under one major general. Commander Wells Roberteau and staff were announced with numerous adjutants and aides. The adjutant general reports four new camps organized in the year, notes funding, and calls for closer camp coordination and a dedicated officer to visit camps. The report urges strict per capita tax compliance and outlines reforms to improve administration and communications across camps.
