July 28 meeting in Montgomery featured heated criticism of proposals for a separate black state and a deportation plan. A. Ny. McEwan labeled the separatist stance as anti constitutional while Charles Stuart of Chicago urged Africa deportation, arguing the South as the negro’s home.
