Washington January 20 Following a lengthy investigation of charges against him Charles AM Maris is reappointed collector of customs at Brownsville and will remain in Washington until Senate confirmation. President and Treasury officials faced opposition over the choice but Maris retains support from Texas political figures and the administration. Robert W. Dibwe was confirmed as collector of customs at Bogie Pane and will assume duties, replacing C. C. Drake as tax collector.
