In Macon Georgia on January 1 et a negro man opened fire wounding Armistead Bryant and John Reed while Mortally wounding himself after he shot to kill a supposed rival. Butler a colored man blamed for the riot was wounded and may die as police and nearby citizens exchanged shots. The assailant previously killed two people in Pinehurst about a year ago and fled into the street firing as officers closed in.
