Towne also plans occasional Southern trips to Atlanta Louisville Nashville and other ports to press Republican vice presidential ticket arguments.
Memorial services in honor of Collie P Huntington were held in the yards of the Central Pacific shops in Sacramento on August 17, attended by 1607 people, mostly employees. The shops were draped in black.

The entire railway system including the Southern Pacific stopped for seven minutes to honor the death of a prominent figure. Observers in New York San Francisco Chicago and other cities synchronized clocks to observe the moment of silence exactly. W G Nelmoyer Southern Pacific official announced the nationwide tribute as a historic moment for American railroads.
Services in memory of Collago Huntington were held at the First Presbyterian Church in San Francisco on August 11. Rev Dr McKennlo delivered the sermon with participation by Dr Vorzanger Dr Guthrie Dr Miller Hr Woods Rev Dr Fair Bishop Nichole and Bishop Moroiani. The edifice was crowded.
