New County Wagon Bridge Near Columbus nearly complete
A new county wagon bridge over the Colorado River north of Columbus, Texas, is about 80 percent finished with only banisters left. It spans 260 yards upstream from the site of last year’s destroyed bridge and carries traffic without a pier. Other bridge work continues on Comins Creek and Dry Branch. The Smithern Pictiic Hallway company began erecting a replacement bridge for the May storm damage.
