Miners Fined for Storing Powder at Coal Creek
Ino Mohuk and John Hollo, Coal Creek miners, charged before Magistrate J. 8. T. Alexander at Fernie with violating mine regulations by storing powder in the mine. They pleaded guilty, fined $10 and costs, and were warned that repeat offences would be punished fully. Earlier, sixteen miners at Coal Creek and Michel faced charges for possessing matches, similarly fined $10 and costs each.

Real Estate Vender Arrested Over Fruit Land Deal
A. A. Cannon faces a false pretences case after selling fruit lands in British Columbia under a refund guarantee. A Lille resident toured the BC land and found it to be mountain slope with little prospect for fruit. Inspector Belcher secured a warrant and Corporal Stewart arrested Cannon in Fernie. the case is set for Friday.

The Hillcrest Coal Company confirms a sale to the C P R with a reorganization to a 3 000 000 dollar capitalization including 750 000 in bonds and 2 000 000 in common stock plus 1 000 000 preferred.
