Regular Hosmer Board of Trade meeting on March 14 discussed forming an Associated Boards of Trade of Eastern Kootenay with Fernie. Board urged Fernie to address a Main Street culvert and endorsed using the old school building as a fire hall once vacated.

Fire at Methodist Church Causes Insurance Covered Damage
Last Saturday around 4 pm a fire was found at the Methodist church. Fire engines reached the scene quickly and the blaze was put out. Damage to the building and water is about 150 dollars, insured. Cause suspected as overheated stove. Rev R W Lee and family lost valuable apparel worth 300 dollars, not insured.

Saw Mill for Michel Construction and Plans
Two carloads of machinery arrive for the Michel saw mill, a modern plant with 40 000 capacity running about nine months yearly, employing 35 to 40 workers locally and 100 in the bush.
