Northampton Mass September 30 120 WAVES were commissioned today as officers in the United States Navy. The ceremony at Smith College training station was overseen by Caplin Herbert W Underwood with 81 ensigns and two lieutenants among the officers. Some will join staff at other naval districts while others go to reserve training stations or branch procurement offices. The event marks the first full WAVES officer class with training to begin next month.
