Hope Rotary hears rail executive warn of big federal raids

Mrs Addie W Taylor Buried at Macedonia

Mrs Addie Willis Taylor died at her home in Blevins on Sunday September 25 after a brief illness. She was buried Monday in Macedonia cemetery and survived by three sons three daughters nineteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Born February 23 1846 in Tishomingo County Mississippi she moved to Arkansas as a child.

Speakers from Prescott Arkadelphia and Little Rock discussed medicine dentistry and surgery topics while guests from Texarkana Lewisville and Hope joined. The society members come from Hempstead Nevada and Clark counties with rotating monthly meetings among Hope Prescott and Arkadelphia.

Cotton Ends Friday Higher After Losses

Cotton recovered most of Thursday's decline on Friday finishing at 7.23 for a 35 point gain or 1.75 a bale for December contracts. March closed at 7.38 up 38 points or 1.90 a bale. The day opened up 10 points, dipped at noon, then posted the largest afternoon gain.

Forty Cotton-Pickers Hurt in Arkansas Crash

Forty black cotton-pickers were rushed to hospitals after a collision between their truck-bound group and a Memphis freight truck three miles north of Little Rock. Harvey Coolidge of Memphis, driver of the freight truck, was arrested on reckless driving charges.
