Arrested as Slayer After Dodging Law for 47 Years
Tyler report tells how James Franklin Neeley, long a fugitive, was captured in Tyner after 47 years on the run for the 1900 murder of Hiram Geeley in Alabama. Convicted of murder under Alabama law then, the death penalty had been replaced by an electric chair at Montgomery. Neeley will face trial again as officials pursue justice.
