Government sets up priority order for factories
Washington reports a forthcoming simple mandatory regulation directing factories to fill military orders ahead of others. William H. Harrison, administrator of the national production authority, said the rule will be released soon and describe it as straightforward. The plan aims to streamline defense production while mineral and energy agencies coordinate with military needs. A separate DPA is created to handle oil gas and aviation fuel issues. The federal reserve board weighs new real estate credit limits, with lower down payments likely for privately financed homes. Under NPAs the new order will replace a complex wartime priority system with a single military preference.
