Organist Virgil Fox Builds World’s Largest Home Pipe Organ
In Englewood New Jersey a 26 room gray stone Tudor manor houses what may be the world’s largest home built organ. Virgil Fox, famed concert organist, has spent five years converting his Hudson River area home into a 55 rank instrument with over 3500 pipes. The console has four keyboards for hands and one for feet. The organ includes Classic Romantic divisions and plans for Echo, Positive and Solo sections. Fox works between tours, recording sessions and teaching up to 33 students.
