Cotton Crop Likely to Be Smaller This Year

Washington AP report from the Agriculture Department forecasts a smaller cotton crop this year, with about 200,000 bales less than market needs estimated at 14.5 million. Carryover stocks for wheat, feed grains, and cotton are expected to drop. Lumber Truck Wreck Kills One Injures Four in Arkansas

A lumber truck fell eight feet into a dry ditch when a wooden bridge collapsed near Caraway Arkansas. Louis Smallwood 33 of Lepanto was killed as the load crushed him. Four others including Roman Showman 42 of Rundellville Alabama suffered injuries while driver Odell Dixon 38 of Walnut Mississippi and a cab passenger John Kirkendall 28 of Ramer escaped. Thirteen Arkansas counties are divided into two districts, each with its own courthouse.
