Northwest Arkansas experiences heavy rain and flash flood warnings as a cold front moves southeast through the region. Rain totals likely exceed two inches in parts, with cooler air arriving by Saturday bringing highs in the 70s and overnight lows around 50 to 60. Georgia T Brown 79 formerly of Hope died in Texarkana hospital. Kathleen Welch 80 died in a local hospital. Willie E Seaton 73 funeral at Herndon Funeral Home chapel with burial in Rose Hill cemetery. Survivors listed with multiple family members and local ties.
Hope Girl Scouts from 10 troops build mini floats for Monday parade with a special prize of 10 dollars for first place and five for second. Color Guard leads, followed by Troop 117 Yankie Doodle Dandy banner and Troop 286 Mayflower replica The First Pilgrims.
