Hope Junior Auxiliary awards 1972 $500 scholarship
Thomas Norvell son of Mr and Mrs E O Norvell of Hope is the 1972 recipient of the Hope Junior Auxiliarys $500 college scholarship. A junior Bible and speech major at Harding College in Searcy he previously received a partial scholarship from the Auxiliary for the second semester last year while at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. The policy renews a scholarship as long as need and requirements are met with funds raised by the Auxiliary.

Senate backs five year U S Soviet arms pact
The Senate approved a five year agreement with the Soviet Union to limit intercontinental nuclear forces and called for future treaties to provide numerical equality in ICBMs. The 88 to 2 vote sent the amended text to a House conference after the House already passed it without the equality language.

MIAMI AP Bernard L Barker a Miami real estate broker and one of five men charged in a break in at Democratic national headquarters faces fraud charges for allegedly notarizing a 25000 campaign contribution with a falsified notary seal.
