Rockefeller Denies Ouster Hearing Political Motive
Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller said his ouster hearing for Game and Fish Commission members is not political. He will issue the final ruling after comments from an attorney general on whether he can designate a panel to hear testimony. He stressed the panel will not decide the outcome, claiming he may have been misinformed and emphasized legal technicalities. He also rejected calling a special legislative session to enable a Pulaski County county judge election, preferring a summer electorate.
