Estimated receipts reach 1373 down from 760 last week with slaughter cows steady to 0.75 higher and slaughter bulls steady. Feeder steers and heifers 1.00 to 3.00 lower while general supply remains mostly Good and Choice with 300-600 lb feeders prominent.
The Associated Press reports a cold front stretched from Michigan through the Gulf states to New Mexico, bringing light rain and a few thundershowers to Arkansas. Rain and cloudy skies expected to persist into Saturday with gradual clearing anticipated late Saturday.

U S District Judge John J Sirica rules the Nixon pardon provides sufficient reason to dismiss Watergate cover up charges against the former president s subordinates. The White House signals no pardons while trials continue as the Senate votes 55 to 24 urging Ford to withhold clemency until all Watergate cases are resolved.
Funeral services were held for Lawrence Whitehead at the Central Church of Christ with burial at Central Cemetery.
