Bank Board Rejects West Helena Bank Charter Bid
The Arkansas Bank Board refused to charter the proposed First Security Bank of West Helena, saying current banks serve the area adequately. Competing banks include Helena National, Phillips National, Merchants and Farmers in West Helena, with others in Marvell and Elaine. The note also lists Union Mission meeting details, college notes, a funeral, and a Los Angeles royalty suit unrelated to the banking decision.
