Local clubs host health program and study meeting

The group met on a September Tuesday at 2 30 pm with Wanda Easterling and others presenting a health program led by Mrs John Hattsfield. Devotional given by Mrs John Hattsfield and several members participated. The Current Study Club also held a Hewpons meeting at 2 30 pm with Mrs Paul Raley presiding and a brief business session.

Arkansas A and M College to add eight teachers for fall

President Horace E. Thompson announces Monticello Arkansas A and M College will hire eight new teachers for the fall semester starting September 12. Among them is Miss Sophia Sue Harper named supervisor of elementary education and instructor in public school art, previously with Hope Schools. She holds degrees from the University of Arkansas and George Peabody College.
