$1.8 Million for Students in Arkansas

The U S Office of Education announced 1 893 867 funds for the National Defense Student Loan Program in fiscal 1967 68 benefiting 6 987 students at 23 Arkansas colleges. Undergraduates may borrow up to 1 000 yearly to 5 000. graduates up to 2 500 yearly to 10 000. Loans are repaid over 10 years starting nine months after graduation at 3 percent interest.

Confesses to Three Burglaries in El Dorado

El Dorado Police said Robert Lee Benson, 31, of El Dorado, confessed to three burglaries committed Friday night. Benson was arrested Saturday night and charged with burglary as grand larceny. He had been released from Tucker Prison Farm in July after a 1957 conviction on 60 counts.
