Sweden's Own Homes Drive Farm Tenancy Reform
Sweden credits the own homes movement for reducing tenancy by creating small farmsteads owned by occupants. Since 1904 the government has promoted parceling land, loans up to 320,900,000 kroner, and colonization on crown land and urban allotments. The program funds acquisition or creation of agricultural or dwelling properties, with loans favored for farmers of limited means and proper work experience.
