The National Weather Service reports high pressure will grip the state through Tuesday. Skies will stay clear with cool daytime temperatures and colder nights.
The Hope Star reports a latest weather map showing a central nation high pressure over northeast Texas with a developing trough along the eastern Rockies. A cold front trails from a Canadian low to southern Nevada and the Rockies front will affect Arkansas weather by Wednesday. Local rainfall totals include Little Rock .09 inches and Jonesboro .03 with several traces.

Central Plains and northern Great Lakes saw subfreezing readings as showers and thunderstorms dotted the continent. Light showers lingered into Tennessee and the Ohio Valley while eastern states faced occasional storms. Pacific Northwest showers with gusty winds up to 40 mph, some snow in northern Nevada, and weekend snow in Montana and South Dakota were reported. Temperatures before dawn ranged from 17 in Houston Maine to 72 in Key West Florida with many cities in the 30s to 50s across the country.
A one day seminar titled Orientation to OSH Act is offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 31 at Red River Vocational Technical School in Hope.
