Red China Thanks Its Supporters in UN Admission Victory
Tokyo reports Communist China thanked its supporters for helping win United Nations admission but did not indicate when it would send its first delegation to New York. An editorial in the Peking People's Daily said the UN vote shows a trend toward friendship with China and against U.S. imperialism. In Japan, Takeo Fukuda survived a second no confidence motion in the Diet, 132 to 106 in the upper house. a similar motion was defeated in the lower house, 274 to 189.
